Waynetown - Virgil Lee Williams, 68 - year - old resident of
Waynetown died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital after being
seriously ill since November. He was born in 1892 in Marrowbone, KY. His
parents were Samuel Ruffus and Ann Maxey Williams. He was first married
to Bonnie Shobe at Wingate. She died in 1943. In 1945, he married Irene
Miller Dale at Waynetown. He came to Indiana in 1908 and retired from
the aluminum plant in Lafayette in 1958. He is survived by his widow; a
son, Lt. Kenneth D. William sof the Crawfordsville Police Department;
four stepdaughters, Mrs. Wanda Allen of Santa ana, Calif; Mrs. Joan Eads
of Rock Island, Ill; Mrs. Carolyn Wright of Ontario, Calif and Mrs.
Patricia Stephens of Waynetown; a brother, Bedford William sof Newtown; a
sister, Mrs. Belle Kirk of Lucerne; two grandchildren; 7 great
grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at
10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Servies FUneral HOme in Waynetown. Rev. Guy
E. Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in
Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday. - transcribed by kbz
